Teenagers who have a positive outlook tend to be healthier life as adults than adolescents who are not happy. This conclusion is generated based on a survey of more than 10,000 teenagers in America.

Researchers from Northwestern University analyzed data collected from thousands of teens that began in 1994. The teens answered questions about physical and emotional health conditions in 1994, 1995, and 2001. Questions focused on understanding the adolescent for happiness, enjoyment of life, hope for the future, self-esteem and social acceptance.

Then the results were compared with answers in the year 1994 to 2001 to determine whether a positive mind can be a way of predicting general health in adulthood.

The result, adolescents who felt he was happy to have fewer behavioral problems, such as smoking, alcoholism, or eating unhealthy foods. In general, teens who are happy it has very good physical health in 2001.

"Welfare is good for adolescents was significantly related to his health when he grows up," said researcher Emma K. Adam.
